Throughout the past 24 years, my career has been deeply intertwined with special effects, product design, and electronic engineering—fields that now converge at Emulant. This unique blend of expertise has equipped me to design and develop complex solutions, a capability I now channel into the realm of medical simulation.
Collaboration with Alicante General Hospital: The Turning Point
The pivotal moment came when I collaborated with Alicante General Hospital on a project to create realistic skin prototypes. This experience introduced me to the world of medical simulation, where I discovered an opportunity to apply my technical and artistic background in a transformative way.
Simulation is far more than simply recreating images or figures; it provides a safe environment where healthcare professionals can practise under conditions as close to reality as possible. It was during this collaboration that I realised I wanted to fully dedicate myself to this field.

At Emulant, we create hyper-realistic silicone masks representing diverse, robust, and non-standardised patients. Our mission is to contribute to more inclusive and effective medical training, equipping healthcare professionals to face a broader range of scenarios. I firmly believe that diversity and realism in simulators are essential for preparing medical staff to treat all types of patients.

My background in product design and special effects has allowed me to approach the creation of these tools from a distinctive perspective. Working in Hollywood taught me to prioritise precision and detail—principles I apply in the production of our masks. Additionally, my experience as a technician helps me understand the needs of end-users, such as simulation technicians, ensuring our products function as practical tools rather than mere visual models.
